After breakfast, begin your scenic journey towards Nyungwe National Park in southwestern Rwanda.
Travel through Rwanda's beautiful countryside, passing rolling hills, tea-growing regions and rural communities.
Enjoy lunch along the way before continuing towards the forest.
Arrive at your lodge near Nyungwe National Park and spend the evening relaxing in the peaceful rainforest surroundings.
Your guide will brief you about the following day's chimpanzee trekking experience.

Wake up early for breakfast before heading to the park for your chimpanzee trekking experience.
Accompanied by experienced park guides and trackers, enter the rainforest in search of chimpanzees.
The forest is also home to several other primate species, colourful birds and a remarkable diversity of plant life.
As you move through the forest, listen for the calls of chimpanzees and other wildlife.
Once the chimpanzees are located, enjoy the opportunity to observe them in their natural environment.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Depending on your interests and available time, you may enjoy an optional forest walk or visit a nearby tea-growing community.

After breakfast, begin your journey north towards Volcanoes National Park.
Travel through Rwanda's spectacular landscapes and enjoy views of rolling hills, farmland and local communities.
Arrive near Volcanoes National Park and check into your lodge.
Spend the evening relaxing while preparing for your mountain gorilla trekking adventure.
Your guide will provide important information about the trek and help ensure you are ready for the following day.

Today is the highlight of your Rwanda primates adventure.
After an early breakfast, travel to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla trekking experience.
Accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers, enter the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.
The duration of the trek depends on the location of the gorilla family and the terrain.
Once the gorillas are located, spend your permitted viewing time quietly observing their behaviour, family interactions and natural surroundings.
This extraordinary encounter offers a rare opportunity to experience mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
The rest of the afternoon can be spent resting or enjoying an optional cultural experience.
