You will then travel towards Jinja, stop at the Nile Bridge for photographs and scenic views, and continue to the Source of the Nile for a boat cruise.

DETAILED ITINERARY

6:00 AM Departure from Kampala

Pick up from your hotel in Kampala by your female driver-guide and set off for your full-day Jinja excursion. The journey takes you eastwards from Kampala towards the attractions around Jinja. Your day combines cultural heritage, forest exploration, scenic viewpoints and a boat experience on the Nile.

Stop 1: Ssezibwa Falls Culture, Nature and Local Traditions

Your first stop is Ssezibwa Falls, a site associated with the traditional beliefs of the Baganda people. The falls are believed, in local tradition, to have been born by a woman, and the visit provides an opportunity to learn about the cultural stories and beliefs connected with the site.

Spend approximately one hour exploring the area. Walk through the rocky surroundings to view the falls, learn about their formation and enjoy a short nature walk through the nearby forest. The natural scenery also provides opportunities for photographs.

This stop introduces you to an important part of local cultural heritage while allowing you to enjoy the natural environment before continuing towards Jinja.

Stop 2: Mabira Forest Guided Nature Walk and Birdwatching

Continue to Mabira Forest, one of Uganda’s major forest destinations. This tropical rainforest is particularly appealing to visitors interested in nature, birdwatching and forest wildlife.

After the required payments, meet your local guide at the reception. Your guide will lead you through the forest on a nature walk and help you explore the environment and look for bird species. Mabira Forest is also associated with primates such as monkeys, so keep an eye out for wildlife along the way.

The nature walk lasts approximately one hour. Bring binoculars if you wish to observe birds more closely, and carry a raincoat and other suitable equipment for the forest visit.

After the walk, continue the journey towards Najjembe market rolex or grilled chicken tasting and then continue the journey to Jinja and the Source of the Nile.

Stop 3: Nile Bridge Scenic Views and Photography

On the way towards the Source of the Nile, stop at the Nile Bridge for approximately 10 minutes. This is an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding scenery and take photographs.

Take a few moments to appreciate the river landscape before continuing to the main highlight of the excursion.

Stop 4: Source of the Nile Boat Cruise and Birdwatching

Proceed to the Source of the Nile for a boat cruise. This experience allows you to explore the area by water and see the source associated with the beginning of the Nile’s long journey.

During the cruise, enjoy the river scenery and look out for birds along the water and surrounding environment. The boat experience offers a different perspective from the earlier forest walks and provides time to appreciate one of Jinja’s best-known attractions.

Boat ride fees are included in the tour package.

Stop 5: Lunch and Jinja Town Market Visit

After the boat cruise, head into Jinja town for lunch at a local restaurant. Take a break and enjoy your meal before exploring the town’s market.

The market visit gives you time to browse local goods and shop for souvenirs to take home. Shopping and personal purchases are at your own expense.

Return to Kampala

After lunch and the market visit, begin the return journey to Kampala. This marks the end of your One Day Jinja Excursion, combining cultural discovery, forest nature experiences, scenic views and a boat cruise to the Source of the Nile in one day.
