Uganda
Plan This SafariThis 12-day Uganda safari combines chimpanzee trekking, gorilla trekking, big-game viewing, boat cruises, rhino tracking, cultural experiences, island exploration, bird watching, and scenic countryside journeys across some of Uganda’s most remarkable national parks and conservation areas.
The safari begins in Entebbe with a visit to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and an Equator experience on Lake Victoria before travelling north to Murchison Falls National Park. Here, you will track rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, enjoy game drives across the savannah, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, and take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls.
The journey continues to Kibale Forest National Park, one of Uganda’s premier destinations for chimpanzee trekking and primate encounters. You will then explore Queen Elizabeth National Park with game drives and a Kazinga Channel boat cruise before travelling through the Ishasha sector toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the highlight of the safari — gorilla trekking.
After the gorilla experience, the safari continues to the scenic Lake Bunyonyi for a traditional canoe experience before heading to Lake Mburo National Park for wildlife viewing. The safari ends with a morning game drive and a return journey to Entebbe, including a stop at the Equator.
Throughout the journey, you will travel with a professional local female safari guide who will provide information about Uganda’s wildlife, forests, communities, landscapes, and conservation efforts.

From chimpanzee encounters at Ngamba Island and Kibale to rhino tracking at Ziwa, wildlife viewing in Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo, gorilla trekking in Bwindi, and the peaceful landscapes of Lake Bunyonyi, the safari offers a broad introduction to Uganda's natural and cultural heritage.
Safari Route
Your Safari Itinerary
After breakfast, depart Kampala and begin your journey north toward Murchison Falls National Park.
Your first major stop will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will take part in a guided rhino tracking experience on foot. The sanctuary protects Uganda's southern white rhinos and provides an important conservation and breeding environment.
During the walking experience, your ranger will help you understand rhino behaviour, conservation and the sanctuary's wider ecosystem. Depending on conditions, you may also encounter other wildlife such as Uganda kob, bushbuck, waterbuck, warthog, duiker and numerous bird species.
After the rhino experience, continue to Masindi for lunch before proceeding toward Murchison Falls National Park.
On arrival, visit the Top of Murchison Falls. Here, the mighty Victoria Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging downstream in a spectacular display of power. The viewpoint provides dramatic views of the rushing water, spray and surrounding landscape.
