Experience an unforgettable 7-day Uganda Ultimate Gorilla Safari combining chimpanzee trekking, wildlife viewing, a Kazinga Channel boat cruise, mountain gorilla trekking and meaningful cultural experiences.

This journey takes you through some of western Uganda's most celebrated wildlife and primate destinations, beginning in Kibale Forest National Park, widely known for its exceptional primate diversity and one of Uganda's premier chimpanzee trekking experiences.

Your adventure continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where open savannah, woodland, wetlands and the famous Kazinga Channel create opportunities to encounter elephants, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kobs, hippos and numerous bird species. A game drive and boat cruise provide two different ways to explore this remarkable ecosystem.

The final stage of the safari takes you into the mist-covered forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will undertake an unforgettable mountain gorilla trek. Walking through the dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family offers an opportunity to observe these remarkable great apes in their natural environment.

Along the journey, you will also have opportunities to interact with local communities around the protected areas, learn about their traditions and experiences, enjoy cultural performances and gain a deeper appreciation of the communities living alongside Uganda's wildlife.

This safari combines chimpanzees, mountain gorillas, savannah wildlife, rainforest, wetlands, cultural experiences and scenic landscapes into one comprehensive Uganda adventure.

Safari Tips

01 Gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking can be physically demanding, so prepare for long walks and uneven terrain.
02 Bwindi's terrain can be steep, muddy and slippery, particularly after rainfall.
03 Wear sturdy hiking boots with good grip and ankle support.
04 Carry a waterproof jacket because rain can occur unexpectedly in the rainforest.
05 Long trousers and long sleeves provide protection from vegetation and insects.
06 Gardening gloves can be useful during gorilla trekking.
07 Consider hiring a porter for the gorilla trek if you would like assistance with your daypack or additional support on difficult terrain.
08 Follow all instructions from Uganda Wildlife Authority guides and trackers.
09 Maintain the required distance from gorillas and follow responsible wildlife-viewing guidelines.
10 Avoid using flash photography around gorillas and other wildlife.
11 Carry enough drinking water and energy snacks during trekking activities.
12 Bring binoculars if you are interested in birds and smaller wildlife.
13 Protect cameras and electronic equipment from rain and moisture.
14 Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed because animals move freely and conditions change.
15 Early morning game drives are generally useful for wildlife viewing because many animals are more active during the cooler hours.
16 During the Kazinga Channel cruise, keep cameras and other valuables secure and follow the boat crew's instructions.
17 Respect local communities during cultural visits and ask permission before photographing people.
18 Support community tourism by purchasing crafts directly from local artisans where appropriate.
19 Keep valuables and travel documents secure during long road transfers.
20 Allow sufficient time on the final day if connecting directly to an international flight from Entebbe.
