Our female driver guide will pick you up in the morning from your hotel located within Kampala or Entebbe. She will introduce herself and give a briefing of the one day tour to Jinja, activities to be done and the stop overs you will encounter during the adventure.
Drive from Kampala to the first stop at Ssezibwa falls a cultural site for Buganda kingdom that is believed to have been given birth to by a woman in form of water that led to the formation of the water falls. You will learn about the traditional belief that is still practiced by some of the locals as well a nature guided tour led by the site guide. Drive to the next destination Mabira forest Reserve for a nature walk in the second biggest forest in Uganda. This is a breath-taking environment for bird watching and nature viewing. You will be handed over to the site guide who will take you through the tour.
Drive to the road side market Najjembe for snack tasting. It can be Rolex tasting as recommended to the visitors or roasted chicken tasting or roasted banana tasting depending on your choice. Interaction with the locals and photo taking. Continue to drive to Jinja city and have a stop at a tea estate and sugar cane estate for some photos and also see how locals harvest the tea leaves from the farms.
Proceed to Jinja and have a stop at the Jinja Nile bridge for some photos and use of washrooms. Continue to Jinja town for a boat cruise at the source of the Nile. You will be allocated to the captain of the boat and the guide for birdwatching, smooth cruising to the source of the Nile and history telling about the discovery of the source of the Nile in Uganda.
Drive to Jinja town for lunch break to taste the Ugandan local dish. Walking tour within Jinja town to see the local markets, visit souvenir shops and some of the oldest buildings in Jinja town. Visit the Jinja taxi park for public transport to see how people move from one destination to another.
Drive to Uganda’s Railway Museum. You will be allocated to a site guide to learn about the introduction of Rail transport and the rail line that was built by the Indian coolies which was introduced by the British to ease transportation of Cotton, coffee and other goods that were cash crops for Uganda’s economy. Jinja used to be Uganda’s industrial town. Drive back to your hotel within Kampala or Entebbe in the evening for your drop off.
