This 2-day Lake Mburo Uganda Wildlife Safari is the ideal short getaway from Kampala or Entebbe, as it is the closest Savannah park to the capital city of Kampala approx. 3–4 hours’ drive with our professional English-speaking female driver guide. The Park is known as the "Whispers of the Wild." It is the only place in southern Uganda where you can see Impalas and one of the few parks offering walking and horseback safaris or guided nature walks.
Lake Mburo National Park is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. The park offers amazing game viewing opportunities, sunset boat cruises, and is the best place to see zebras and elands.
Our female driver guide will meet you at your hotel and Depart Kampala early to beat the traffic heading to Lake Mburo National Park. We will have a stop at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe, where you will conduct a water experiment to experience a tropical equilibrium, and take photos while standing in the North and South directions.
Continue to the National Park, an extension of the Tanzanian plains with large herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. Opportunities for bird viewing are great–this is one of the best locations for birders to discover African finfoot and papyrus bush shrike. After exploring the park in a vehicle, check into your lodge, and have lunch
Enjoy a short sunset game drive or an optional night game drive (requires pre-booking) to spot nocturnal animals like leopards and hyenas. Proceed to the lake for a 2-hour boat cruise, which will provide you the opportunity to see water creatures like crocodiles, hippopotamus and water birds, including Fish Eagles, Pelicans, Black Crake, and Heron. Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
Explore the park with a game drive in search of wild animals such as zebras, impalas, topis, buffaloes, and elands, with great possibilities for bird watching, with around 313 species of birds.
You can choose between a guided walking safari (encounter zebras and giraffes on foot), or a horseback safari (arranged in advance via Mihingo Lodge), or a morning game drive to catch grazers before the heat of the day.
After we shall drive back to Kampala with a stop at the Mpambire Drum Makers Village to see traditional craftsmanship. END OF SAFARI
